Join Slingshot
Before You Apply
Slingshot is for projects that are ready to move. If you have an idea but no cooperative structure, start with Pnyx governance and Bruck’lyn community-building first. Come to Slingshot when you have:
- A clear cooperative function (what it does, who benefits)
- At least 3 Member sponsors (Members who have committed to use it)
- A willingness to share innovations with the CANON
The Application
The Slingshot application is a cooperative-class pitch: not to investors, but to the Members you’ll serve.
Your application answers:
- What cooperative function does your project serve? (Be specific.)
- Who are your 3+ Member sponsors? (They’ll confirm when we ask.)
- What platform infrastructure will you use? (Don’t reinvent what exists.)
- What will you contribute to the CANON? (Be honest about what you’ll build that others can use.)
- What does success look like in 90 days? (Measurable. No vague metrics.)
Acceptance
Slingshot cohorts are reviewed by the Slingshot Alumni council (Members who have graduated previous cohorts). Acceptance criteria:
- Cooperative-class filter passed (see About page)
- 3+ confirmed Member sponsors
- Platform fit (uses existing infrastructure, doesn’t duplicate it)
- CANON contribution commitment
What You’re Signing Up For
90 days. Real accountability. Peer review. No exits. Just building.
If you want to build something your community will own and use, Slingshot is for you.
If you want to build something to sell, this is not the right accelerator.
Free to use. Better to join. Slingshot is the “better to join” proving ground.
