Not a single day since 1989 where Jonathan Jones did not work on some version of this platform. Economic crashes. Military service. Eight children. Three complete rebuilds. The idea never went dormant.

People ask Jonathan why he works so hard on something with no guaranteed payoff. The answer is short: because I was a soldier. You don’t stop because it gets hard. You stop when the mission is complete.

Galaxy Quest’s most famous line — ‘By Grabthar’s hammer, by the suns of Warvan, you shall be avenged’ — gets repurposed as the cooperative motto for the moment a member realizes how much they’ve saved by switching to cooperative economics. A comedy. A truth.

Every part of the Jeep had been replaced. Was it still the same Jeep? The platform has been rebuilt from scratch three times. Is it still the same idea? Yes. That’s the only answer that matters.

The ‘G.I. Jones’ alias is not a gimmick. It’s a structural identity claim: the Founder is a soldier who happens to be building an economic platform, not a tech entrepreneur who happened to serve. The order matters.

An accounting student asked Jonathan why he was still working on a platform that hadn’t launched yet when he’d already accomplished so much. His answer: ‘I already won everything else. This is the only thing left that matters.’

Quicksilver is the Founder’s code name for his working velocity: the ability to run at sprint pace for 48-hour windows when the mission demands it, without burning out the team or himself. Not sustainable forever. Effective when deployed correctly.

One of Jonathan’s eight children drew a picture of people sitting together, drinking tea, none of them quite touching the ground. That drawing became the origin image for the ‘Sippin Ethereal Tea’ subscription model and the name of the DSS portal.

There’s a moment in a colony’s development — biologists call it the critical-mass threshold — where the individual ants stop being individual ants and start being a colony. Jonathan is waiting for that moment with Liana Banyan. It hasn’t happened yet. It will.

Grandmother kept a jelly jar on the kitchen table. Every week, something went in. Nothing came out unless the family voted. That was the first cooperative ledger Jonathan ever saw.
